Last few months of my contract here, so this may be my final build in Ghana. I'm further along with the build than I have posted already, so I will finish this big beast in case I'll leaving.

Yuri Gagarin is still in my living room, but I will have to find an adoptive home for it before I leave. That one is impossible to ship overseas, and I've pretty much run out of space back home anyway.

I missed the beginning of this build somehow, but am excited to see you applying your remarkable building skills to this historic ship.

Don, good to see you here!

Now I am not building this fast, I'm catching up on previous progress. Her are the underwater hull plates. Fit and looks improve a lot by sanding down the edges of the internal framework a bit to accommodate the sleek hull shape.

Sorry to keep hijacking your thread Marco - have you considered the Russian (or was it Ukrainian) embassy for the Gagarin?

That's certainly an option. My model of Prague Castle ended up with the Czech embassy in Nigeria.

Camouflage!

She did have a rather impressive dazzle paint scheme in 1945.

Not the easiest job to cover this very long hull. I tried on side by pre-assembling the skin, and one side by mounting the skin parts one by one. The latter was easier and the result looks better.
