Drakkar at 1/700 scale
While I'm assembling the RMS Mauretania, at 1/700 scale, and the Cruiser Dupuy de Lome at the same scale, this weekeng I decided to take a time off from my hobby... and start another ship
Well, not exactly. I decided to make a test about how will look an 1/700 scale drakkar. And the test went, and went, until it was not a test but another proyect. This one is a 20 meters ship, with the oars retracted ant the sail deployed. I felt that it was the smallest ship that I had made... until I remembered the boats of the battleships that I had made! Anyway, the hull is ready, now comes the shields and the mast! By the way, not all of the drakkars carried the dragon head. This one will not! And some of them were painted with shinny colorfull lines. As each of them was made and mantained by a group of vikings, there was not a "manual" or "rule" about how they had to be

A drakkar by Draco! :-)
You can see Draco in the great classic film The War Lord 1965 on YouTube, by the way. |

Almost ready!
I suppose that displaying the sails and oars extended at the same time looks fine, but in reality there must have been one or the other. Anyway, to finish I'll place the rudder and maybe the shields. Here I'm comparing the drakkar with another ships at 1/700 scale. Wow!
