Interesting approach, I've only built one ship but wasn't confident enough to try the foam.

The decks have come out very nicely, I can't wait to see more.

I have gone for this war with no guns but this is beauty of this hobby that there are tones of things that we can try while building model, we will see if I can make anything from this kit

The hull is now ready for skins. Finished portholes and top part of both sides. So far parts fit amazingly. So happy with quality of this kit. Few pictures of the progress.

Great hull! So smooth...

Two questions for you:
1-) What kind of glue did you use with the hull skins? It doesn't wrinkle...
2-) What exactly is this foam? Can you give me a comercial name or brand?

For hull skins I used Budapren glue. It is kind of like contact cement glue. Smelly though, but great for big surfaces and long pieces, and it is not water based so paper doesn't absorb it.
Foam I used is is Great Stuff big gap filler. For my opinion it is a little to soft but still worked not bad. I also used a thin layer of plaster to make it smooth.

Finished nose of the hull. It was tricky part. This part contains two elements to glue together.

Bottom section of the hull is complete,although I am disappointed with the kit. While fit of the parts is great ,colors aren't :( there 3 different shadows of the colors. Lighter at the front ,darker in the middle and lighter at the end of the hull.... I am thinking to even this out a bit and spray it with the paint to make it even color along the hull. What are you thoughts folks????

Easy and cheap stand for the hood was made out of scrap piece of wood i found in the garage. used rotor to trim sides of the stand and painted.







The hull is finished now. I did spray a bit the front and back of the hull to mach the color. Now it is time to add all the details to the hull.
