Thanks again boys for warm words...Moving forward I made four main guns turrets. I worked on four of the at the same time....Each of them contains different details so it took a while to complied them. Also on top of each of them there is one range finder with lots of small detail and one has rocket launcher with the platform....i had issue to make boots for barrels since there was no template for them in the kit. I tried different materials to at least get closer to real ones and imitate saggy bags around them. HMS Hood-993cce581ebd24dece3f5a15959662f5.jpg

Here are pictures of finished parts....

The blast bags look great, what material did you settle on?

I have typically used toilet tissue heavily soaked in thinned white glue.

Very nice. Does the blast bags on Hood have any internal support structure? I remember some ships did.

Thanks man. I have tried different materials, and the easiest for me to work with was a material from tea bags....they are very durable and not easily to break while you are gluing them....

Thanks man. No there was no internal structure for blast bags, not even a paper version of them....

Hi, Olo. Little correction. Boots for barrels of main guns should be outside of holes for barrels. Not inside. There are special metal belt or corbel around hole for fitting of the boot for barrel there. You can see it in on the first photo of real barrels of the cruiser (message #171).
Very quality job!

Olo - a great job.

Have been following - this is one of my favourite ships.

Your idea of tea bags sounds excellent - better then the tissue I have typically used in the past.

Anm certainly going to try it out on one of my current models.

Thank you Kevin what is good about using an empty tea bag is that doesn't tear so easly and easy to shape it they way you want to

I am so going to try tea bags! Presumably, before you dip them in water?
