It's looking good boats. And it is nice to hear the positive comments about Orel.
The designers from this era favored the tall funnels. Many seemed to have them.
Since these were "coal fired", I think the idea was to funnel the smoke high and away.

That, and the tall funnels increased the natural draft in the fire boxes, for a hotter fire.

That's a great point Fred.
It would certainly make the taller funnels worthwhile.

Bridge and Fore fire constrol Station

Ahoy Paperwrights

Update build report for today for 13 hours straight I been constructing the Bridge and fire control station a lot of parts the construction of this assembly is very fragile and care must be taken when constructing this assembly. The Bridge deck supports aqre hair pulling so take your time secret to do for this assembly like all small structural parts is back the paper off with Acc glue it will turn paper into light plastic card no fear of breaking parts during the cutting stage. Letting the unit dry over night have a few more parts to completed the assembly I will finish them up tomorrow and post pictures.

Tomorrow when the unit has dried I will give the pilot house a coat of clear varnish to give it a wood structure. In all the hard part of this kit is done the rest is a cake walk all those deck fittings and other sundries lastly the boats and acombination ladders and rigging this will be distant for a while.

Hi Deckape,

you are like Alfred Hitchcock! He also appears for a few seconds in his films.

But this construction thread is not most horrid. :-)
