Japanese Sub I-400 in 1/200 for free

There was a plan to attack the Panama Canal using those submarine aircraft carriers.

One of the planes is in the Udvar Hazy National Air and Space Museum. The Aichi M6A1 Seiran (Clear sky storm). https://airandspace.si.edu/collectio...lear-sky-storm. These did fly, launched from the sub when it was surfaced, and the subs wwre en route for their first mission when the war ended.

The crew could open the hanger doors, move the seaplane to the catapult, unfold wings and launch within minutes after surfacing, taking just a bit longer to retrieve the plane with the crane and stow it before submerging. But remaining on the surface for even that short a time was extremely hazardous later in the war, due to radar and air patrols. These giant submarines were relatively slow to dive and maneuver, and despite their size the hulls were rather vulnerable to depth charges. And I once read that if the large hangar flooded due to damage or a failure to properly seal the doors, the submarine lacked enough remaining buoyancy to recover.

When the sub was surfaced, the pilots landed the planes on the water. The planes were towed or maneuvered to get alongside the surfaced sub and retrieved by a collapsible crane.

Dear All:
If you are interested in other submarine aircraft carriers there at least five other models available of two subjects. Two by Halinski of the same subject the I-19, one in 1/100 under the Kartonowy Arsenal, the other in 1/200 under Military Model. One Surcof by my beloved publisher JSC in 1/400, one by Extra Model in 1/200 and one by FLY MODEl also in 1/200 (I have not seen the last two).

Hi guys, I have a question about the I-400 class. After the war this class was investigated by the Americans very thoroughly. I have seen some low-resolution pictures of these investigations, but is their no extensive gallery in High-Res about this/these investigations ??? There must be a lot of photographs been taken during these investigations !!
By the way, the Polish company GPM is planning to publish a model of the !-400, publishing date, unknown !!
