Mike, I can give you a very simple advice for photos. Get a source of white light(flashlight, lamp, etc.), some white cardboards and take your smartphone(although I use tablet for all these pictures). That's all you need. Basically, white light is the key to success, the most important thing.

Funnels, especially triple funnels, are tricky. The slightest irregularity shows up, especially in close up images. These are straight and true - shipshape and Bristol (or, in this case, Clydebank) fashion.
