Orel USS Alabama
Anyone here purchase the Alabama from Orel. Yuri Gagarin is such a masterpiece of a model, if Alabama is anywhere near as good I'm thinking of getting it.

I went ahead and ordered Alabama, being shipped from the Ukraine, hopefully customs won't screw me over like my last GPM order. This should be a nice kit. I plan to use my Missouri guns on her even though they are 50 caliber not 45, I'll trim them to accommodate.
To my knowledge no laser cut parts are available, so old school laminating and cutting is in store. I'll post images of the kit when it arrives in a month.

Laser-cut frames for Alabama are available from GPM Models as are barrels and a photo-etch detail set.

I will be watching for your build thread. If you find that the kit is up to expectations, I plan to buy one. I have an untouched Yankee Modelworks resin kit of the ship, that I bought years ago, but I would rather sell that one on ebay and build a paper model instead. Since I have come back to paper, I can't imagine going back to plastic and resin.
