All,
The keel went on very well indeed but it's hard to get a picture of...pretty long! I also got the front dive planes installed and they only need a bit of trimming and some extra glue to solidify them...probably some super glue. Starting to look more like a sub now! Cheers, Dan |

Screws are cut, folded and attached with aluminum tubing shafts. I'm amazed at how everything fits so far! Looks pretty nice.
Rear diving planes soon...Dan |

Thanks, Folks...
Mike: I did see that footage on YT it was neat to think I'm making a model of the very craft. Thanks for the link. I got the back dive planes done. The only thing I did differently was adding the bracing that goes from the hull to the curved dive plane guard. My rear geometry must be off a bit (I know my wife thinks so!) so it was easier to just cut that piece in two and add those as 4 separate pieces rather than fold them like a triangle as in the kit. Looks spiffy back there and now I only have some little bits and bobs to add on the deck but I think I'll go ahead and add the main deck parts since they look so cool. Cheers, Dan |

Here it is with some tiny bits of touch-up paint mostly around the main gun housing and all the main bits on the top. I did drop it tonight as it's tough to handle being sort of heavy on both ends and it's a smooth little sucker too...no damage though. Next will be all the antennas, aerials, railings etc. and she'll be done! A most impressive model, I must say. I'll build another from this manufacturer for sure...Dan

Thanks, All...
I'm almost done. I've added all the deck bits and pieces, the aerials and retracting pieces...even the White Ensign blowing in the wind! I only need to add all the railings and safety lines, rigging, a bit of weathering and she'll be done. I just ordered the Surcouf from this same company. It's only 1:200th but it will still look neat along with the M.1... Cheers, Dan |
