Well done. I had to go back and read the full post as I somehow missed this thread.

Thanks, Everyone. Today I got the final pieces! I ordered from a 3-D printing company called Shapeways and they had 1/100th RN sailors! I've never seen this technology up close, but these dudes have nice profiles and details! I can't wait to wash them and prime them so I can really see. One pictures shows them with a typical 1/72nd guy. I think they are super neat and will look great on the M.1!

I also got some spent shell casings after going to the range today and I hope to incorporate those into my nice M.1 stand. Stay tuned!

Dan

The one on the left has been given a fairly good paint job with high lights and shadow...the face a tad muddled....but compare to the guy on the right who just has the basic colors on with no additional detail.

Actually looks better in person and spiffing on the M.1!

Here's some of the crew painted and placed along the M.1. (guy by the gun is just leaning there and hasn't been given the final detail painting treatment). Really seems to bring things to life!

Cheers,
Dan

Nice work Dan.
I agree. Figures (especially well painted ones like yours) always add a dynamic story telling to the model IMO.

It is easy to project a scenario with just the three figures you have there.

What is the guy with his hands in his pockets looking at? Is he being lazy and the other figure coming to tell him off or joining him to figure out whatever it is on the horizon?

Mashy! That's hilarious. It is fun to think of some scenarios. I now have him glued and painted and his arms are supposed to be doing something with the deck gun, but I'll let you be the judge when I post some finished pics soon.

Thanks for the interest and kind words...Dan

Congrats on finishing the model, she looks great, those figures are also a great addition. I was considering Shapeways for some figures for my Millennium Falcon but the prices including shipping to Australia are insane so I won't be going down that path.

Agreed, Jaffro. Even here they ended up being $$$$, but I'm glad I did it. Now I need to build some more 1/100th RN subjects so can use the rest of them!

If you ever can get hold of some for a reasonable price, they do seem very nice indeed...

Thanks for looking and the nice comment. I shall finish the stand and then try and take some final shots soon!
