I finally got round to making the railings.
Had been avoiding it as my soldering isn't great. I made a passable job of it, but I obviously need a bit more practice. Here is painted and installed. Rear rails, control cables, radio cables next...

They look great, the welds look great.The railings instead give the submarine a very good look.You are close to the end, it will look magnificent

All finished.
It's weathered to represent return from patrol with victory pennants on display. Specifically - Klaus Popp's 8th patrol in U552. This was 52 days long at sea, (mostly on the U.S East Coast) with a high number of successes (8) and long enough to attain the corrosion levels I wanted to portray. I highly recommend this model by U-Don. Even in my relatively inexperienced hands, the model went together really well.
