Yudachi Destroyer

Thank you for this model.

Completed just hours before showing at last night’s Ship Modelers Association (SMA) meeting. No time to complete the bow mast as instructed; just used a straight wire for the bow display flag.

The majority of SMA master craftsmen are seniors therefore I am relying on their eyesight without magnifiers not being able to pick out my glue gobs.

1/400 scale or whatever the computer prints out on one page.

At this scale in close up photos my masts look horrible.

Mainmast Cyanoacrylate glue gobs appear to be several duffle bags in size.

Gun Barrels and masts made from wire.

The torpedo launch tubes are rolled 20 lb paper.

Actually it doesn’t look that bad...from across the room.

Looks good from here!

I may be motivated to build one in 1/700 to go with my
USS Trippe

Looks good to me, too. I'd be right proud to have built that ship.

Although slightly short of the amount of detail I'd rather prefer (very impressive nonetheless, given the scale), the model is clean, crisp and coherent. If possible please keep these builds coming

I saw it last night at the Orange County IPMS meeting and it looks great up close as well.

Yudachi at IPMS competition

Yudachi Destroyer at IPMS Orange County competition.

I placed it up against the signboard for that IPMS Competition Table
along with a type written Yudachi history sheet. Next to the model
on the model entry card I printed one word, “PAPER.”

David and Jim, thank you, especially after actually seeing the effort.
