Thai WW2 submarine HTMS Matchanu

Hi,

A while ago I saw a free card model download of the Thai submarine HTMS Matchanu.
Site seems not available anymore. My question, does anyone have downloaded this model and is willing to share it here ??
It seems that Chaiwat Kosatanakom, also a member of this forum, designed this model.

Hi Rick,
There is a site,

https://papercraftsquare.wordpress.com/tag/htms/

I tried some possibilities on this site and finally could download the file via Yadi.sk
There is a lot of information about these submarines, look here:

https://thaigunship.blogspot.com/201...submarine.html

Scroll down to the end of this site and there is a very nice model of this type of submarine !!

Hi All,

It was very interesting to see the cased model of the HTMS Matchanu in the thaigunship blog. There is a brass fitting at the bow that appears to made up of three elongated footballs. These are the Y-Tubes, and were an early underwater location device. The difference in time a sound would take to reach the three receivers would give an indication to the direction of the sound. At least this is how it was explained to me by my old neighbor, Dean Varner. He served aboard the R-12, one of the first group of U.S. submarines to cross the Pacific and take up station at Pearl Harbor.

In the attached photograph, note the Y-Tubes at the bow of Dean's boat, the R-12. It's interesting that such a device should appear on a Thai boat.

Score and fold,

Thumb Dog
