Queen Anne's Revenge Puzzle
I have been far too busy for far too long. That has hindered me from participating in the hobby that we all love and all come to this forum to enjoy. My modeling activity has been limited to lurking here in the background watching all of the impressive works posted by others.
So imagine my feelings when my wife got me a 3D Puzzle of the ship Queen Anne's Revenge for Christmas. It is not a traditional card model, but it is essentially a card model made with thin foam core board. All die-cut pieces with tab & slot construction - no cutting - no gluing. I had hope of actually getting this one finished. I am not fully certain why it is called a 3D puzzle. The parts are numbered. There is a detailed instruction sheet. There is no guessing. It has the same effect as a LEGO kit making a decent model from simple shapes. After a few hours of evening sessions spread over the month, 340 pieces came together and it is finished. I'm really impressed with the engineering that obviously went into its design. And I am happy with the final result. It is so large that it was difficult to take a photo. Oh, and this kit included internal LED lighting too! |

That looks like a lot of fun. If my time keeps coming up short, I might have to look into that one

Makes a great looking build. My daughter got me the flying dutchman last Christmas and it looks very similar to the queen anne's revenge.

Cool. Brings back some childhood memories of plastic pirate ships I built, but this one is much more authentic looking. thanks for sharing.

One wonders what those pirates thought of all those flying machines ....great looking kit with potential for a detailed rigging approach. Well done.
