Scharnhorst 1/150 - Scratch Build

Hello everyone

I would like to present to you my big scratch project ,which has started several years ago and still yet not finished. The time I started bulding this beauty , there was no such a papercraft so I decides to build one my own. I choose 1/150 scale for getting better details.

So long story short... Whole ship is drawn in autocad. I used 3mm thick play-wood for superstructure. I tried to produce as many details as I can produce by myself . So also I used ribbed sheed floor which I created by lasercutter machine, also whole construcion is cutted by laser machine. For wooden deck I choosed 0.8mm playwood and by laser machine I try to produce planks wood- so deck should look more realistick. Cannon barrels on the biggest gun are made out of aluminum and used lathe to get in to proper shape. The smaller one are made from paper and the AA canon has his barrel made out of really hard wire. I try to fill of rivets as imitation where I could and scale alloved it. Mostly Im using copper wire of different diamater to enhance details of superstructure such as ladder or etc. The hull is almsot finished but right now i have lack of pictures of it so I'll post them as soon as possible.

Hopefully you will like it and sorry for my English, it's not my native language .

Okay enought words here are some photos

Regards - Peter

Hello Peter,
This is an impressive project.
Scharnhorst at 1/150 scale is a big model.
I look forward to seeing more.

Dear Pietro, I must agree with Michael. Your project is very, very impressive.
If you are considering adding an Arado float plane, Bruno has one in 1/100 easy to reduce and built in 1/150.
And yes, looking forward to se the progress of your project.

My father built one at a similar scale. The hull was over 2m and according to my mother was in the way for way too long :-)

Looking forward to watch this build.
