Deep-sea submarine TRIESTE - 1:50 - WAK

Hello

Shortly before the completion of the Gloucester Cathedral, my next project is already in the planning stage.

This time it goes under water, really deep even. The deep-sea dive boat TRIESTE dived to 10912 meters on January 23rd.

About 300 parts are distributed on four A4 sheets on the very beautiful sheet from WAK Verlag.

With great anticipation, I'm really looking forward to the bleed of the special bow.

On the frame set I renounce this time, I would like to do everything myself.

To praise the title page and a few insights into the bow.

Kind regards
Kurt

Hello Kurt,
It will be fun to watch, for the first time, the building of this specialized submarine.

Hi Friends ,

@ Mike : I also never see a building report from these submarine

@ dhanners : you can get it here :
https://www.kartonmodellshop.de/shop.../?filter_id=11

@ Kevin : welcome back

but now it starts ...

Start with Part 1, the ribs I stick to 0.9 mm Finn cardboard ... the first cylinder is standing, cut the ribs on line, fits perfectly

Fuselage parts 1 + 2 connected, very accurately fitting ... I cut the reinforced frames first roughly, then I divide the edge into segments.
Finally cut out with the cutter around.

Yours sincerely
Kurt

By chance, I just got this model (with laser-cut frames) as a gift from a new papermodeling acquaintance. So I will also be following with great interest as well. There is a YouTube video of a build of this model, which you will find by searching “Trieste paper model.”

Having built this model I can vouch that it is a fine and well engineered kit. Plus one thing I know for a fact is that your build will, I am sure, put my build to shame. Looking forward to following your thread.

Great progress and thanks for the URL, Kurt. Being a monolingual American, it might take me awhile on that website to figure how to order....
