I second that. I will remember the tape trick. I have built with strings on glass and the ship attached with dots of PVA. When done, slide the string forward to peel the dot off. I look forward to more of your build. I wish HMV offered the laser cut parts as PE. They did offer for some of their kits at one time, but are very difficult to find now. I do not think they ever offered f/the Bismarck. Your work looks very clean and precise.

Thanks guys - My model storage units are from Hobby Zone, and are way better than anything else I've used for storage.

Time will tell if the masking tape idea works!

TBH I prefer the laser-cut card - I try to use only paper/card/clear acetate & Ez-line rigging for 'paper' models. I use photo-etch a lot on plastic models, and find it pretty tedious to work with.

Bismark

Impressive already!
I'm in awe! I just started this hobby but was realistic with myself so - for now I'll stick to the easier ones - HMV's Hermes for example!https://www.papermodel.com/103312-mo...at-hermes.html

Not much progress - all my modelling projects have got bogged down recently. HMV kindly sent me a plain deck .pdf, but I couldnt colour match the prints. There were also potential issues with fading. So with heavy heart, I made a start on airbrushing swastikas onto the plain circles, using the 3D printed template:

The foredeck swastika spans several raised parts, so is much more difficult to mask:
