Bismarck, HMV, 1:250
I never intended to build this one, but in the end I couldn’t resist the challenge:
Couldn’t really build it without the laser-cut set (which cost as much as the kit): It’s a big one - over a metre long and 7545 parts: Also got this awesome book as a reference: Two years minimum for this one I think. |

Does anyone have any ideas for reproducing the swastikas on the decks? I thought of masking and airbrushing, scanning the originals, adding the symbols, and then sticking them on, but it's still risky. I don't want to ruin it in the first week!

In 1940, the year this model represents, there was no swastika painted on the deck of BISMARCK, if you want swastikas on the deck you have to think of building the GPM or HALINSKI model of the ship. witch represents BISMARCK in her final configuration. This is just my thought.......

The book Stefan Draminski published about BISMARCK is a much more accurate book as the Brower book, not comparable at all, and very worthwhile to buy !!!!

I’m not too concerned with absolute historical accuracy, I simply want to add the swastikas to avoid having the unsightly plain white circles on the decks. |
