HL Hunley

Just returned from an IPMS contest in Murfreesboro. Who says paper cannot compete against plastic or wood? This is Renova's Hunley. Some subjects fair better than others. Cars or airplanes with compound curves don't stand a chance because of the number of seams. But other types with flat surfaces or simple curves do well if the basics of modeling are incorporated into the model.

You can find local contests in the US by checking the ipms/usa webpage:

IPMS/USA | By Modelers... For Modelers

Please save the negative IPMS comments; I've heard them all and most, if not all, are invalid these days. I am a past president of the USA branch.

Scale modeling is like a box of chocolates.....

OK...I have no idea why the photo posted upside down. I tried reloading it a couple of times. Sorry for the inconvenience

Congratulations! As a B.O.S. paper modeler, I know how good it makes you
feel to know we can compete and be recognized in the IPMS world.

Well done!

Great model and display.

Paper models are always welcome at the Cumberland Valley IPMS events here in Pennsylvania and at the annual Northern Virginia IPMS Classic.
