Heres the stern going in, just glues using the reddish coloured tab.

Also the supporting structure underneath the deck- all going smoothly!

I am already dreading trying to put the hull plating on!

I seem to have skipped a few stages - all concentrating on cutting and building!

Fitted the maindeck as you can see. I realise I damaged the sides with my glueing error earlier and have a feeling the hull is wider than the deck as a result.

So, I glued it flush with the stbd side and let that dry. Then, I applied glue to the rest and tried using the deck to 'pull' the hull sides inwards towards each other. Had some limited success and getting better at applying the right amount glue to the right places and settling it all before the paper becomes too soft to manipulate.

Just started applying the hull plating by putting the transom on. Schreiber have been good and detailed the inside of the bulwark by printing it as a mirror image above the exterior section. Just score, flip over and glue. Then bend the transom so it matches the curve on the deck.

Was careful to dry fit it several times as the hull plating is the part that concerns me most. Went well.

Now I cut out the remaining hull plating sections as you can see. Theres an insert for the bow bulwark which fits very accurately in place. Same for the main deck bulwark - but I dry fitted these pieces several times to make sure they fit.

The fore and aft hull sections are joined by the strip representing the inside of the bulwarks - and that strip has an arrow printed on it denoting the bow direction, plus, a little black notch denoting the point where the strip should be glued onto the joint between the fore and aft hull plate sections.

Completed this ok, all looks smooth. I put the hull plates blue side down, and glued the bulwark to one section first. Did this by adding glue near but not at the top of the bulwark to allow for ooze as I press the parts together, but also to be able to squeeze the glue 'down' the bulwark as I press from the top to the bottom.

Not so much to go now really (it seems!) - add the plating, the Bridge housing and rails, detail parts and rigging and thats it. It will be a bit more effort than I think though!!

Its TRULY the hull plating that worries me a bit. Large parts, must fit precisely, hull already slightly damaged.

Dry fitting will be key I am sure.

The hull damage can be attributed to heavy seas encountered in the many voyages and clumsy dock workers.

Yes, certainly does! I actually find it quite difficult to believe except indeed you can see real life pics.
