Buoy Tender NORDEGRÜNDE scale 1;250

Hi to all,

since I am going to finish the HMV buoy tender BRUNO ILLING soon I was looking for a successor in 1;250 scale and found one in a multiple sense: The latest PASSAT model is the buoy tender NORDERGRÜNDE which is the successor of the BRUNO ILLING for the german federal waterway service. The model was also designed by Henning Budelmann as BRUNO ILLING. So a buoy tender designed by the same designer and successor in service seems to be a good premise for a well build model

Here you can see BRUNO ILLING with the NORDERGRÜNDE sheet in front ready to be cut out and the frame which is really stable.

Looking forward to watching you build your Buoy Tender.
I have seen this assembled by others.
It is an attractive model.

Thank you Mike, it is an attractive model indeed. Robert Hofmann managed to make the crane moveable as he showed at kartonbau.de. This is something I am not even going to try...

After fitting the frame, deck and sides came to get into place so the model is going more similar to the original, which shows the federal flag on its sides as symbol for a federal service.

Because I was not satisfied with the rubbing strakes interrupting the federal flag, I made an addition with a copy on the top, the side and under the rubbing strake, which makes it more similar to the original.

Thank you very much Greg! The construction makes it easy to build the model well.

Last things I finished this weekend were the bulwark top and the hawse rings – I hope this is translated correctly – and finally the frame for the deckhouse. The rings are made by etch parts.

Beautiful work, and I like your 'premise' of following your Bruno Illing.

Thank you both very much!

This weekend I prepared the walls of the deckhouse and then added them to the framework, beginning at portside, continuing at starbord and finishing with the front. I cutted out the windows and doubled doors and things like that. Everything fitted as well as it should do. Finally the cranebase came into place and also the upper deck with its pillars.
