And a new update, I continued the build of the bridge.
A little structure is installed, but there's a discrepancy in the alignment:

Also on the opposite site it deviates:

But with a little coloring of the white spots it's not really visible anymore:

After that the wheelhouse was assembled:

And the next deck with the large mast:

The walls were added:

And also on this deck there's a wheelhouse:

With a small house around it, of course the windows were replaced by foil:

And now I have a problem and need some help.
In the buildingdiscription there is no indication with side the door is placed of the little square loft:

Hopefully someone can say something useful about this?

And finished with some fences:

Very nice work so far! I have this one in my stash, though not currently anywhere near the front of the queue.

Hello Arjan,
Fascinating model. Am curious about a few things:
Barrels for the large guns – how did you make them?
I imagine 3 parts, a tube for the base of the gun, disc to separate the base and outer section, and another miniscule tube for the outer gun barrel section. Is that correct?
How did you roll such miniscule tubes?

Are you painting the white edges of the parts, or using felt tip or other method?

Abouth the foil for the bridge windows – does it come in the kit? Or what is it exactly?

I am intrigued also with the small gun – the handwheel and spindle it sits on – are these lasercuts? The whole assembly looks intricate – did you use a magnifier in assembling it – would appreciate a few tips how you did that.

Excellent build – will be a real quaint and elegant eye catcher when shes finished!

Regards,
Alan

Somehow I've missed this one up till now. Really magnificent work thus far! Clean, delicate and not a smudge or glue-spot in sight.
Looking forward to your continuing progress.

The little cabin, the door would likely face towards the keel (centreline).

About the barrels, you start with the smallest tube, and then a bigger one is partially slid over it.
For the rolling I used a set of metal wires in various thicknesses.
First you cut out the part, and then make it slightly wet.
Depending on the size pick a metal wire and roll it over the part on a soft surface like your finger.
When the part is in the correct shape let it dry.
And then add some glue from the inside of the tube:

I tried different things like pencils and felt tips pens, but the best thing really are the watercolor pencils, like Faber-Castell.
With a little brush directly take some paint from the tip.
You have them in every color, and can buy them separate in the colors needed:

I use wathever I can find, normally in a cheap actionshop there a lots of thing packed in foil what is usable.

They are indeed lasercut.
I personally don't use a magnifier, what I use is a daylight lamp to have a clear view.

Arjan

Thanks for this information on your methodologies.

It is a great pleasure to see these large, clear images as the work progresses.

I made some small progress again.
Allthough the instructions tell you to go further with the middle deck, I decided to continue with the front first.
So first assembled some parts for the anchor chain.

Then the big gun is assembled:

Installed on the deck, also with the fence:

And a lot of posts for the air supply, I have no idea what they are called:
