Hi everyone! This is my first build of any kind, so I might make lots of mistakes. I probably don't have the right equipment, but I've got scissors, a retractable blade, tweezers, a ruler and PVA glue. I don't have card, so I'm using magazine covers, which work surprisingly well. So far, I've done the skeleton and the decks (which are a bit wonky) and I'm going to attach the sides soon. I hope you will enjoy this journey just as much as I do!

Too late i think to give you tip number one. scan all your sheets before you cut and build so you can print again any parts you mess up.

Yup, luckily I did that, but my printer only prints B&W, so that's why it looks black and white. I'm having trouble sticking on the sides, any tips?

Why is my deck lopsided? Is there any way to fix this? I remember gluing down symmetrical supports. Should I start again, or is a wonky deck a normal part of the build and can be easily fixed later? I really don't want to start again, since I've spent 7 hours on it in total....

It's funny how it looks straight from the sides, but not from the bow or the stern.

Did you build your hull skeleton upside down? Not sure why its lopsided otherwise.

This is your first model so do not be discouraged, this is the way we learn. A sharp knife may help you doing reconstructive surgery. Measure twice glue once.
You may print another deck and glue over a stiff paper or even balsa wood.
Experiment first. When you are happy, continue.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all your support. I think I found the main problems:
- The keel was not laid straight, and it wasn't safe to bend it at that stage.
- The vertical supports did not fit since I cut them maybe a millimetre off.
- The deck is wavy because I did not shape it before gluing, so I had to squeeze it very hard to get it to stick, squashing some vertical supports.

Now, I've glued all the sides except for the stern, and the lopsideness is reducing, but I've got squashed vertical supports and a wavy deck, which will make it very hard to glue the superstructure on. Unfortunately, I can't just tear the deck off, because it would tear the supports as well.

I started with the keel, then vertical supports, then deck and now sides, as per the (not so great English translation) and the numbering system.

Here are some picture, do you think it is still possible to glue the superstructure on?

It looks a lot better, you may treat it as your prototype or as the definitive model depending on how the superstructure fit.
Think about it as a super model, and I am not talking about paper models

None of them have perfectly symmetrical "those" but when the photographer catches them moving in the runway nobody notice.
So, to whom are you presenting this model: you, us, your family or a museum?
