Heiner,
She's looking quite good, thank you for posting her here too, else us English speakers would miss out And thank you for the material info, I have rigging in my future and have not been really happy with what I've done so far so new ideas are good. Looking forward to your completed lightship |

Gentlemen - Thank You very much for Your kind words!
Before we continue (tonight), I wanted to present a piece of art to You, that I found just today in www-land, and I really love it: the book Lightship by Brian Floca, that I will get as a reward from myself as soon, as this model is finished. The crossection here is from that book.

Hi everybody!
It´s been quite a bit since I worked on this one, but You will understand, that family business beats cardboard in any form, and there are a few things to consider right now. Besides, I wasted some time with failed experiments, that I don´t need to bother You with, so here we go, as if I had known what to do from the very beginning. The steps at the second masts are made with a template, für which page 2 of the kit delivers the perfect pattern - congratulations again to DN for this absolutly delightful kit! Having finished the threading (Thanks God!), I continued with the lights and the masttops. The lights are simply cut from an acrylic rod with the lamp made from cigarette paper, rolled around it. The railing was somewhat tricky, as it tended to dissolve (must try some other kind of cardboard for my lasercuts), but with LOTS of superglue I could keep it together - well, more or less. The rigg of the masttop finally is made of wonderwire. I´m still wondering, if I try to build the radio beacon antennas at the masttops, but first of all, of course, there has to be another masttop.
