you do your bows and sterns slightly different to me ,i join both sides of bow first then glue then on as one piece wrap around so 100% joint at bow, same with stern, any ajustments are taken up when putting sides on

Am very interested in your build Fred, as mine is waiting for me at home, so I will now not be left wondering about the tabs issue.

Your method of explaining the process and the challenges is great too, as opposed to just showing pics of sub-assemblies.

Am curious about the lasercut frames - what thickness do you reckon they are?
They look like thin hardboard but are they card?

Nice job, great description of how-to as well!

Regards,
Alan

they are thick card but not sure of thickness. they make for a very strong and solid hull with no warping

Next aft decks but first cut....:

First cabins glued on the ship:

And there was a problem...I was measuring and something was wrong but don't know what jet, so first glue the second deck:

That should be in one line, but why isn't it....

After a long period of measuring and watching I found the problem.
And this time its my own mistake
While building the ribs and decks from the laser parts there was a littel mistake. ( see #4 picture 4 and 5)
I cut of the tabs but didn't look too good.....and glued it wrong..

So first I have to fix that.
Cut out 3 pieces of carton, glued them together and sand it in shape:

That's the way it should be!

Glued the decks on:

It toke me a while but that's OK now

Fred

Looking good. I enjoyed seeing how you dealt with the problem.
