Los Angeles-class SSN

Hi all

Felt like something different and maybe a bit inspired by the recent wave of ship builds. Had this one for a while, decided I'd give it a go. It's a non-specific version of the Los Angeles-class SSN, however the VLS tubes would make this a Flight II boat.

I quite enjoyed the build, nothing challenging, it is just a big tube. At its designed scale of 1:144, the model is 76.39 cm long which makes for a fairly imposing model.

Hi Niki, I'm very impressed with your model and it might just be the distraction I need. I was wondering, how did you shape the top of the conning tower? The model parts and instructions seem to suggest that they are preshaped, but I didn't see a former or bulkhead.

There are two formers inside the conning tower, one at the top, one at the bottom. I inserted and glued these in first. I then pre-shaped the top according to the instruction photos and glued it on. When attaching the top, I glued the middle first then the ends, it seemed to work?
