About ventilator 96-98. This photo with my notes written in it, is more than confusing... and yes, I am blonde lol parts are ok, nothing wrong with the parts, i just explained it with confusing picture. The drawing was from different model and in this model the parts have different proportions. I made a quick drawing and ventilator should look like that: see pic below

1. Aerial domes - cheating level master, my domes are made of paint brush ends! I know it's wood, but after all wood is only unprocessed paper, so I think it counts. I painted them white.
2. Aerials - I made tiny holes in mast and superstructure with little hand drill and put wires in them. |

Looks great.
The use of wire and wood doesn't matter - some of the tiny pieces can never really be made properly out of paper! And you were right - this ship is actually a fine looking vessel - it does have a really nice look about it!

Hi Kasia,
Is that the aerials in the block of polystyrene? Good idea. And great improvisation with the paintbrush tips - gives me a few ideas too!! I am currently working on JSC 'SOLDEK' 1:250 - struggling a bit with making the mooring bollards. Made the first few individually, took a while and all under a magnifier too. Tried 'mass production' by rolling all of them around a straightened paperclip using thin plastic sheet - with mediocre results. I don't want to hijack your build log by posting pics of my build but was wondering if HIRTA has similar size bollards in the model - and most importantly - how will you go about making them?! Regards, Alan |

Those antennas and radars look very nice.
You are very close to graduate as a paper ship modeler with honors! |

Hello again, thank you for all your lovely comments. Big day today - I finished the model!!!
1. I put lasercut railings. I painted them, but one side only. I should have painted both sides! Oh well, next time, next model. I pressed the markings with acrylic ruler to mark all the foldings and folded the parts doing dry fit every time. I found some parts easier to handle when I cut them in two or three pieces instead of putting one big long piece of railing in one go. Here is a link to YouTube Hirta video, where you can see all the lasercut railings in photos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvlM8ufyAvA&t=1s 2. I made a water base for my model. As this is my favourite ship, it deserves a special treatment I found spare sheet of printed sea, probably left out of Pharos kit. I put couple of thin layers of water gel, starting with beautiful named one “swamp green” lol. Then Atlantic gel, transparent gel and water foam on the top. So this is officially my first ever ship model built from A to Z. Already planning to build another one P.S. Alan, yes, aerials are in the block of polystyrene. I made bollards with hole puncher, about 2 mm dia. and plastic rod. To make ones on Soldek, you would have to paint plastic rod black and discs cut out of yellow card.

Congratulations on completing an excellent model, Kasia. It looks great displayed on the watery base.
It has been great fun watching you build this ship and sharing your building methodologies. I eagerly look forward to your next build. Don |

Congratulations in your Graduation Day!
While I am not by far the best modeler in the forum, I can recognize one. My first model was very crude comparing to yours. As the marketing director of JSC, now you know your product better and your users needs. Seconding Don, looking forward to your next model, and to your next release. |

Great model! Well done!
Which version did you build? The easy or difficult one?
