USGC Eagle 1:250 Completed

I purchased this kit from Kartonmodelle, Wilhelmshavener Modelle, Papiermodelle, Modellbaubogen in February. I received it a week later. The dealer provided excellent service throughout the build. It is a very small model with many tiny parts. That said, the fit was excellent. I did use dowels for the masts and yards for extra strength to support the rigging. I did not attempt to install the provided sails, after completing the rigging I needed to move on and call it done.

I do need to pay more attention to the scale of things I purchase but I was so excited to find this kit that I had been looking for so long.

One of my friends is an ex Coastie and I am confident he will be surprised and will enjoy this model.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Paul

Great looking ship. I like looking at the rigging without the sails. To me it has a nice aesthetic.

If your friend is a purist, ask him if he would be oh-so-much happier with harbor furled sails. That should be quick to do, the sails are lashed to the top of the yards.

Your model is fetching. Thanks for sharing.
