My newbie project.
Hi fellow modellers.
Well after a lot of searching through all your posts and collecting all sorts of information, I've started the long road of developing my own project. This ship I've choosen, was built in 1967 to trade in NZ. She was called Seaway Princess. Owned by the Northern Steamship Co. Didn't survive too long on the trade she was intended to ply. On sold to Holm Shipping Co in 1969. It's as the Holmlea I've modelled the ship on. Reason I picked this perticular ship was it's simplicity. Anyway have a little look at my progress so far. Any suggestions of improvements, I'm all ears. |

Good luck with this. Boats are different. Choosing a simpler craft to start is probably wise.
My last boat project went South, so I switched to doing a kitbash, then with lessons learned, I went back and designed my own Bragòsso. A struggle the whole way through, taking a lot of time, but learning a lot. Wishing you the best with your project. I think that the different aspects of this hobby is part of the reason it is so appealing. What scale is this going to be?

Very nice
Your project is for practical purposes 1/305, slightly smaller than the more usual scale 1/300 (1mm to 12*25.4mm). What is the over all length of the Seaway Princess? |
