Fantastic work. These Japanese funnels are amazing, so complicated yet more attractive than any other navy.

Thank you Don Boose and Paper fan for your comments and interest in my build. Another two days and second funnel is done. I thought the first one was challenging but the second one was half the size of first one but same amount of wire work

So glad you provided the lighter to show the scale of those assemblies.
Fine work. Japanese funnels are unique. Mike |

Nice,
I am building the same model right now. But my version will be based on the ship from 1945. Good luck! Jakub |

Hi Jakub ,great to hear that someone else is building the same ship. Please share some pictures of your build. Is the kit also from Halinski ?

Do you have any good historical pictures of the ship?

I have the "Profile Morskie" publication. I base my model on that. There are some photos of the ship in it but most of the materials are the drawings.

For research, it's worth checking out the Gakken pacific war series, presenting the ships as 1:100 detailed models. Not being discriminating, but Morskie's detailing tends to be hit-and-miss for most of their subjects. The Kagero 3D illustration series are newer, and present a better research.
I also like how you did the metalworks, they are very clean. Keep it up!
