Here is the list of equipment a typical whaleboat would have carried. With five crewmen and with the mast and sails stowed aboard, it must have been pretty crowded.

No doubt about that David! I have wooden kit of Charles W. Morgan on the bench and a whaleboat on que (both by Model Shipways). Facinating times those were and pretty brave men to carry out their line of livelyhood.

Good painting and new one to me. Whaling boat has been an on-and-off stage for few years. Lot of variety there too. Recently I made a brief effort with it and tried to to do one of her whaleboats. I post a picture if you are interested.
