Started the F4F portion of the airwing. 10 of 18 built. These are tedious little models in their own. Not historically accurate but decided to line up 4 on the catapult and several behind. I plan to build 2 Avengers full wing and the rest folded. 30 planes on these little carriers is pretty amazing. 50 ships, 30 planes each, U.S. in this class alone was the largest flying navy at any time of the war by far. The Axis powers never had a chance with the un-molested manufacturing might of the U.S.
The massive "over equipped" U.S. military is the reason U.S. manpower losses were so minimal compared to the other combatants. |
