Mine ship Queen Luise - G.K.Verlag - 1:250

Hello

With my next project, I am trying for the first time on a model sheet from G.K. Verlag.

I really like the design of the model sheet alone. Great layout, comprehensive history of the ship, twenty eight pages of picture and
Text construction instructions, twelve construction sheets with 1902 parts in excellent printing. The parts list is particularly interesting, with which I, as a landlubber, can learn a lot of marine terminology.

I also did the laser sentence for it.
Since this model can be built with a removable underwater hull, I will of course choose this option.

With great anticipation for an extensive project and best regards

Kurt

Hi Joe ,

thank you

Now let's go ...

First construction phase, the underwater hull ... Fix parts U1 + U1a with small drops of glue on the glass plate and align

Connect with the lugs U1b + U1c ... Longitudinal frames U2 + U2a ...

... glue to the base plate and connect with U2b

Sincerely
Kurt

Second construction phase - transverse ribs ... glued

The sloping longitudinal ribs ... are fitted dry and then glued, so far everything fits very well!

The frame structure is actually a model in itself and very stable

Sincerely
Kurt

Now the longitudinal adhesive flaps ... another plus point of the model building sheet is that the individual sheets are perforated,
so that these can be easily separated. With other models in book form, the sheets often have to be cut out, whereby it is sometimes quite narrow and there is a risk of damaging parts.

Since the longitudinal adhesive flaps are slightly bent and cannot be cut with the ruler, I pull the strips out of the sheet freehand with the flat blade ... after gluing, allow them to dry well again.

Sincerely
Kurt

Thank you Joe

With the 5th construction phase it will be really exciting ... the three small tabs are glued to the underwater side wall exactly according to the drawing. Close the three slits with adhesive flaps made of thin red paper

Now glue the tabs flat to the glass plate ... and leave the top still open, dry well

Sincerely

Kurt

After drying, pull up in the middle and glue ... then treat the back part in the same way

I'm halfway satisfied with the result
