S. S. Makura

This the first time I've taken on an older vessel.

S S Makura was built in 1908 for the Union Steam Ship Co of NZ to service the Pacific royal Mail service.
She ran from Sydney to Wellington then onto Vancouver via Hawaii.
Served the company til 1937.
Still have a couple of things to finish up but I think she's looking good.

I found it was a very tricky project but enjoyed building her.

Hi Mark,

This is a nice looking ship and model, looking forward to see the finished model.
QUESTION: is it scratch build or card model kit ??

I am intrigued how you managed to fit the side plates/skins without removing it from the board???

Regards,
Alan

Hi Alan, I haven't removed it off the stocks, so to speak, it was quite easy to do. Have done a few the same way.
