Excellent model illustrating an interesting period of naval architecture.

Your ship is quite beautiful.

Hi All,

And hi, AlainM. You've built a lovely model of an imperial yacht I've never seen before. The three gaffs seen precariously mounted at the mastheads look like extra trouble for the crew. If contemporary paintings are to be believed, those gaffs were soon removed. I'm including an image of the beautiful standard flown at the yacht's stern.

Well done, AlainM.

Score and fold,

Thumb Dog

L’Aigle was the yacht of Napoleon III. After Napoleon III reign, it was converted in a steam frégate.
