Fantastic work on the ship. Interesting curved smoke stack.

Congratulations

Thank you for the compliments. To be honest this is probably the first ship model I have actually completed end-to-end. Overall I especially liked the mast and rigging, but consider the handrails to be sub-par. The build order still need to be optimised, especially the handrails were becoming a pain in places where I have lost access.

I don't know if this is the 'correct' way to make cardmodels or not. It was just me wanting to try something different, to try techniques and materials that I have regarded to be outside my field. I also consider the build to be mixed-media, but I did have a tiny insistence in keeping all printed parts unpainted.

The choice of this subject was also deliberate, to build a ship in a configuration that did not exist in history means I could take more liberty in customising details without being tied down by historical accuracy. (Of course, I still want the configuration to appear feasible)

Here for reference I would like to also share some of my friends' attempts on the 1:400 scale. Maybe they will never have their own build threads on this forum, but I hope that these photos can open new possibilities at this scale:
USS Baltimore testbuild by Mk-Papia (to be published after Ibuki, I'm drafting the underwater hull for this right now)
HMS Rodney by Panzerwillow (Fly Model)

Thanks for the additional information on your philosophy of paper ship modeling and for these two excellent images of excellent models.
