Thanks Issac and Avraham for your interest and comments.
@ Isaac - I was expecting that it will not be perfect. Looks that I will take option 1, smooth and repaint. Looking now for the best color match. @ Avraham - This pictures take me back to the late 60's. Still have a scan of this model. Shalom Mor |

The 3 inch gun is done. With more than 25 parts (not counting the base ribs), it became a mini-project by itself. Added some filling at the top, smoothed the bonding lines and repainted.
The mast is the next step. Shalom Mor |

Very nice turret!
It is also nice to have the subject near you for a firsthand reference! Consider using wire or metal rod/tubing, I am not going to be offended with a mix media model. |

Thanks wireandpaper, Abir Merlin and rifleman. I don't mined using diferent materials, but for the mast I am using woden round toothpicks (2mm diameter) and paper because it is easy to bond them together.

Nice choice: paper and pre-paper!

Maine effort for now is the mast, it is divided to two maine parts - lower and upper. Done from 2mm and 1mm woden toothpicks build as a trust.
Pinting will be done after bonding the two parts. Dry fit to the model. Shalom Mor |
