Nice fittings taking shape on the deck.

Looking at your previous post with the 1/20 scale cannon caused me to do some calculations.
If the whole ship was built at 1/20 scale, I came up with a model length of 149 centimeters (58.6 inches). Am I correct?

Thanks Mike. You are right, the original measures ~30 metres. In 1/20 scale I'd give the whole interior a try. ;-)

I returned my attention to the hull for a change. Portholes, finishing rudder etc. Wanted to show one procedure which pretty much comes close to 'modelling madness'. The steps on side of the hull.

Every step has to pieces which are first laminated to double thickness. Then you cut out the pieces - 8 cuts each. Edge colour them and glue together and then you can attach the finished step on the hull.

Four in place and 21 to go thats 42 pieces, 336 cuts and all the rest of the work that goes with it. Happy modelling. ;-)

Small update of tiny steps taken with the ship's decorations. Still trying to finish the outside of the hull,

Top marks for your patience and building skills Tappi. No model is perfect but one has to look hard at yours to find faults.

Thanks Rata, today I'm dedicated for the shroud channels. Work started yesterday by laminating some pieces on 1 mm cardboard. Today (and propably also tomorrow) I cut, colour the edges, glue and assemble all six of them.

Here's one picture showing what's to be done. My fingers are already cramping of cutting 1 mm thick pieces and this one is the biggest channel assembly on the ship. Phew!

PS My nickname Tappi is derived from my first name Tapani and it's been following me my whole my life. I do ever so often a freudian typo entering a letter o as the last letter like Tappio which in english is defeat. Did so seconds ago and I hope it's not an omen. :D

I have watched sail ship builders use many different methods to create shrouds.
Looking forward to seeing your solution.

@Mike.
Me too, me too. Many of those phase ahead to come. Bigger and smaller challenges that still await their proper solutions.

@Dane,
Light it was, I finished only three channels. Thanks for remembering Finland's Independence Day.
