Hi Tappi!

The hull looks very good, the arches are pretty regular!
I love tikurilla products, but I don’t know this paste. They may not be sold here ... What is the drying time? What thickness can be used at one time? Does it shrink during drying?
Thanks in advance!

Regards, Joe

Thanks Joe. Takes a little time and effort but I like the ways ship is going to look after this. The Tikkurila filler is for furniture and fixtures and for indoor use. Watersoluable, very fine grain and dries in about an hour. Easily sanded and doesn't shrink or crack. Very recommendable. And so much cheaper than the modeling putties.

Hi there!

Definitely worth the effort!

For my ship it is already too late because I planked it up to the first gun wale already. But for my next build I will remember to use the Tikkurila filler instead of the half-dried white glue. :D

Looking forward to seeing more!

Rgds,
Radek

Thnx Radek! The filler is fine but I hate sanding. I really do. That's why I've been silent. I can't do the work indoors and my basement workshop has been too cold and damp because of the winter. I just have to wait for better weather conditions for the ship. That decision was so firm that I even misplaced the ship in my wastebasket. No harm done, it is well protected. ;-)

BBut idle have I not been. I,ve been sightseeing London in the footsteps of good captain Cook. Here's modeling sidestep number 3 or 4 in this thread - I lost count of them. Anyways 'The Old London Bridge' by Micromodels - issued by Mirco (new) Models. Inspired by the black and w2hite engravings of the real one I printed the kit in black and white too. Very tricky to build but lots of fun when you get the hang of it.

It's not a true repsresentation but a nice collection of ideas and in interpetations collected from historical documents. And definately anything like it was at Cook's time (see the picture before the last). But still offered a nice trip back to 17th and 18th century since I hover on that historical zone with my modeling. :-) Last pic takes you where I started - the good ship in the bin.

PS I try to load the pictures again whem I find out why they are scalde to stamp size. I did everything as I'm used to do. Just wondering.

Well done on the bridge!

And the Endevour is nicely hidden in the bin (had to look twice to find her on the last picture) - waiting for her rescue so she can continue her voyage to the new continent, because there must be one to balance the land masses of the world, otherwise we could loose our orbit around the sun! (or fall off the four elephants and the turtle... ;P )...

I am struggling still with my planking at the moment (imitating tree nails) so will be a while for me too, before I will post anything on my current build...

Ok, now I think I know what happens. In the picture download manager process my pic gets downscaled from 1,5 MB to 23,9 KB because of the max width limit? Hasn't happened to me before though. I have to consult Rick before I do anything else. Sorry.

@RdK, thanks mate. I have full confidence you'll nail it. ;-)
@Michael, slow and steady spring will eventually arrive. And not a moment too soon, ;-)

Tappi,

I just viewed all the pictures in post #115, and I didn't see any problems when the images were viewed.
Not sure what happened, but I am seeing the images in full size, not stamp
