I do have a question though Marco - how did you avoid the hull warping if the base plate was not for example dot-glued to a glass sheet (etc)?? |

Thank you all!
@Positive_Rate: I've never had that much of a problem with that when building at home. That being said, when I build in more humid countries (Ghana, Malaysia) I've experienced more frequent problems with warping, sometimes to the point of not finishing the model (I abandoned my build of JSC's Normandie while in Brunei before I ever posted it here).

Marco,
That’s brilliant! I’m intrigued though - on the second last pic it shows the last section (or 2nd last?!) apparently fixed along the bottom. But next pic this one large section is in place. It seems to me that piece has somehow taken 2 curves, inboard and aft at the same time all without being preshaped. Am I looking at it right? How did you do that? Regards, Alan |

Do you mean this section? Didn't have much of an issue with it - it's very well designed! Peter Brandt always made the best ships. I just systematically worked my way from bow to stern.

And from waterline towards the keel glueing the piece little by little and forming it along the way? This is my guess. The little details in your pictures are the best opportunity to learn from you. I enjoy very much.

Yes, I want to have the waterline as neat as possible, any errors are more easily corrected (or hidden...) at the keel.
