1/600 Australian light Cruiser HMAS Perth

My next project is the Australian WW2 light cruiser HMAS Perth, as she was when sunk in Sunda Straight in 1942. She was a major unit in the ABDA naval fleet in the opening months of WW2. Following a disastrous daytime surface engagement, HMAS Perth and USS Houston stumbled into a Japanese task force in Sunda Straight at night while attempting to reach Australia. Both were sunk by Japanese cruisers and destroyers.

The waterline kit will be in my usual scale of 1/600.

The attached image is of the 3D model that I am creating using TurboCAD. I found that I can save it as an STL file as used in 3D printing, which I can then view in detail using MS 3DBuilder. The model is a work in progress. I have been asked if I would make the STL file available. I won't rule that out, but I would like to know more about how it would be used. My STL files are made specifically for developing a papermodel - some items are simplified, and some would not be printable as they are.

Very cool, looking forward to your completed model.
Thank you for filling in the gaps.

ps: That reminded me that I have to work more often in my ships!

The 3D model is pretty well done. I might add some small details later. Next task is to disassemble the 3D model, "explode " each part, lay out the flat pieces and arrange them into the paper model. That could easily take several weeks.

Thank you for the update. Waiting for some weeks after years of waiting is doable!
Best!
