ARA Santa Fe

Continuing with the Malvinas/Falklands topic, I did a “draft” of the ARA Santa Fe submarine in 1/400 using the Rigby’s classic USS Flasher for the hull. I had to do something that I haven’t done in decades, filing! I could have used the hull of the much more accurate USS Archerfish from Halinski’s Military Model, but this is just for fun.

Waterline Santa Fe

Here is a waterline ARA Santa Fe before the conflict. With this I conclude (for now) the Armada de la Republica Argentina.

Pablo -

Yesterday, I received the latest issue of Naval History in the mail. It contains two articles about the war, one on the loss of Atlantic Conveyor ("Failure in the Falklands" pp. 12-19) and wartime British logistics ("Logistics Miracle" pp. 20-25).

This issue also contains several articles about USS Langley and its aircraft and air operations, as well as other interesting topics.

The magazine is available on line here: Naval History Magazine - April 2022 Volume 36, Number 2 | U.S. Naval Institute The on line issue also contains an article not in the print edition about the Royal Navy's role in the war. I think at least some of the contents of the on line issue are freely available, but you might have to be a Naval Institute member to access other material.

This is an interesting thread. Good work on ARA Santa Fe. The Naval History cover image shows Santa Fe under attack by a Fleet Air Arm Westland Essex HAS.3 operating from HMS Antrim.
