Well the pdf version it is much cheaper than the printed version you buy already print. But I have seen some comment that the deck it is green and not grey on the model. I have buy the pdf file for the Messerschmitt, Coleoptere, etc.

You might want to sent a note to PMI. They just changed owners and are re-building the inventory so there may be some confusion over there at the moment.

You well, Jim!

The brandname and the whole inventory went over to HMV; in the future all under the roof of moduni.

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried

Have a look at the website of WHV - it seems as if there is a depot in the US of A from where they ship to US customers, only. The adress is A heartly welcome from Wilhelmshaven! --> int. mil. ships - you find there both the Forrestal and the Nimitz for USD 69.30 + shipping, which is approx. 50% of the price customers in Jurrop have to pay.

BTW, also the planes are much cheaper, e.g. F-101, F7U-3, F-8, F-4, F-117 for UDS 10.50, B-58 for USD 14.70 and B-47 for USD 18.90 (ca. 50% of price for good ol' Jurrop)

of the nimitz and that is the price difference i am seeing...

well i allways prefer the pdf version over printed in case i step on the model

as i have done in the past with the uss arizona from digital navy

hehe

thank you for correcting me

if things go well with the essex and it gets compelted ( i hope)

the nimitz will be next

I picked up my copy from Ebay....wound up spending right at $100. IMHO, the kit is overpriced even at $60....especially considering the sparcity of the deck compliment provided with the kit and that there are no red parts. If you absolutely must have the Nimitz, then you will probably have to settle on the WM kit. If you just want a big aircraft carrier, you will find better dollar values with GM, Fly Model, or even Halinski. Just one person's opinion.....

Hello the hermit, I thought I would add my 2 cents worth. First, this is a old kit, original or re-print version? I got a good deal when this was sold from PMI last year when they were discounting kits. My cost f/$50.00. Not bad considering this is available from Germany for about twice that w/shipping extra. Now as far as to the color of the ship, no it is not up to today's standards and you do only get a small air wing, but what you do get are some of the best I have seen for this scale. Either scan/print, or you can order more, scan/print seems to be a no brainer. I for one consider this one of the prizes in my collection of ship kits. With a little attention to detail, PE railing, scan/print more AC, you could end up w/a real piece of American Naval History. It's not like you have a great deal of choices out there in this scale for this time period, WWII AC Carriers are there, but not too many of the after WWII type! I for one do not feel if you can get f/$60.00 is a bad deal. Heck there is a Battleship I refuse to pay $65.00 for when the same one can be found from another publisher for 1/2 that. So with all that said, if you want it, buy it, but if you do not feel comfortable with purchasing, then pass. I have found that some times the one everyone says pass on is a gem, sometimes the one you just gotta have is a dud!:DRick
