my first tryout for a boat build
found this one on the net a couple of days ago, and now i have no idea where. It says "Schreiber-Bogen" on the bottom of it but...
it is called Dolphin and was very easy to do as only 5 parts the main hull, the bottom, the cabin, the wheel and an "over structure" or whatever it is called on Boatish /Håkan

Nicely done. The wood texture on this model is very realistic looking. Are you planning another boat or ship?

Nice choice. I'll be looking for a build thread.

Cool little boat!
I like it! Nice job! It looks like a design that one could have fun modifying. I like your choice for your next build as well. I've seen those before and I really like the passenger ships. Looking forward to your next build! Russell |

been looking at the print a couple of times now (following advise from another link here about technics) and imagine myself really building it - despite my lack of skills - but hey it's only paper and i can print it again if i get it wrong.
a little question, i printed it on 200g paper, maybe i should have used 160g instead or a combination, what is preferred on a build like this? maybe 200g for the hull and 160g for he other parts or even 120g? will start in next week as i'm currently finishing off Canon's Neuschwanstein castle, my only 4th ever model to build, started in in march but soon realized i was in way over my head and put it aside until i gained more experience (which shows troughout the model) if the real castle would look as my model, the desgned would have kicked the builder off the planet, it is very skewed - probably made all the errors there is to do on it *haha /Håkan

I use 199 g/m^2, 150g/m^2 and regular 24 bond photocopier paper for ships.

I use mostly 200g/m for just about everything and I use lesser thickness for
my tabs, mostly plain copy paper. But really it all depends on the model. Some parts demand the thinner card. Some builds the thicker. You will learn what to use the more experience you get. There really aren't any set rules for this. Like I said, it is something you learn by experience. Keep building. The more you build, the more you learn! Russell |
