Starting to put on the bilge plates. It was not as difficult as I had anticipated.
A trick that worked for me was to glue the bilge plate to the bottom plate, let
that dry and then curl the two together onto the hull.
cheers Jim

hi all,
The port side plates are on. Some of them were not a good fit and had to be
trimmed/extended. See the last pic.
The ones that are upside down simply fit better that way.

cheers Jim

Thanks Kevin,
Slow going. I started on the framing for the forecastle and painted the hind end.
Don't know about the painting of the inside of the holds. Might be too difficult
to get at with a rattle can, even a small (3 oz) one.
cheers Jim

Winding up the framing of the forecastle. The fits are pretty good and the deck lines up well.
The chain well (chain locker) and the bollard bases are fitted.

The dowel is a place holder for the hawse pipe, which will be a paper tube.
cheers Jim

The basic forecastle structure put together. The deck plate didn't match up to the
underlying framing so I had to add some filler strips along the sides. Otherwise
everything fit OK. Still hesitating to paint the inside.

Starting to think about painting the hull it occurs to me that the instructions do not
specify where the water line is supposed to be. Does anybody have info on this?
cheers Jim
