Hello everybody! I REALLY do not know, where to place my question, so I beg your pardon if it is wrong here!
As I am interested in the german kriegsmarine (and that I have the illness what I wish to know everything about the thing I am building) I have several links to this topic. Unfortunately some (I am afraid most of them) are in german language. So - before posting them - I ask you, if you are interested in them, perhaps because of the pictures. Let me hear (read) your opinion. Perhaps one sample: The East-Asia ships of Vice-admiral Graf von Spee, first world-war: http://www.kreuzergeschwader.de/main.htm Frank |

For those interested in German warships, should check out this website:
http://www.dreadnoughtproject.org/plans/ It is loaded with original design drawings of various types of ships. |

Hi Frank,
I have no problem as long the poster is not trying to sell something. Some of the best pictures of German ships are on German sites, so please post away. If you could just mention that the sites are in German, that would be great just so member know. Jason

Okay.. I am so "free" and state a few other - with a short description;
http://forum-marinearchiv.de/ A german Forum for battleship of the world, most topic 2. worldwar http://www.heinzalbers.org/z_1.htm a picturepage of Mr. Albers of his time on Zerstörer 1, former USS Anthony DD515. German language http://www.hnsa.org/doc/br224/index.htm The complete gunnery pocketbook in english from 1945 http://www.wlb-stuttgart.de/seekrieg/chronik.htm The chronicle of the seawar dated 1939 to 1945, german language http://www.u-boote-online.de/index.php The german submarines 1939 to 1945, german language - MANY pictures http://www.battleshipbismarck.info/ The Bismarck - as the name says http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKScoC7WigE A video of the Bismarck - mixed with music http://www.prinzeugen.com/ Ships, weapons and men on the Kriegmarine http://www.maritimequest.com/warship..._graf_spee.htm Page of maritimequest for the Graf Spee http://www.prinzeugen.com/Plans.htm Plans of german Schnellboote http://www.bild.bundesarchiv.de/ The digitale picture archives of the germany! Many pictures of the second worldwar are now free to view for the public! Of course in german... http://www.hmshood.com/hoodtoday/200...tion/index.htm The expedition to the wreck of the HOOD http://www.bismarck3d.prv.pl/ The Bismarck in 3D pictures in polish/english language http://www.servicehistorique.sga.def.../listebato.php Shipplans of many warships, page is in france http://www.gotenhafen.one.pl/ Page of Gotenhafen, now Gdyni w latach with MANY pictures of the former harbour, including the later wrecks of german battlecruisers I think, this shall be enough for now! Happy reading! @Jason: I have seen your note after sending my links, so I included the language. The owner of the page normaly do not want any money. In some pages are possibility made to buy a book of the topic, but it is mentioned there very clear due to german rights! Also the pictures are free to view and to save for personal purpose, I think none of us will make a book of this. To publish a picture or so in a forum, I think it is the right way to ask the owner of the page for the permission. I had made very good results with this handling as the owners are happy to see, where their stuff is shown and how many people are interested in it. Just check out some of the links. Makes me wish I spoke German. Might have to setup another forum or links page as some of these would make good references and this post will get lost after a couple month. The expedition to the wreck of the HOOD also links to the expedition to the wreck of the Bismarck. That is one site I had never seen. Thanks for posting.
Jason

I think most of you will know it:
http://www.shipsnostalgia.com/ Picturepage of ships - modern and older, warships and cargoships. Page is in english, but you have to log in before searching the huge archive. No costs and it is worth it for some real old pictures, for example the sunken german battleships at ScapaFlow in the 1 worldwar. |
