Looks great for a first model. I'm not sure I'd want to tackle a full hull ship and I've been at this a while.

So, when does the Air Wing fly on board?

Wow. That's some starter model. You've done very well with it to. What a monster! I think that it's great that you tackle something big while you're earlier in your PMing career and haven't been worn down. I've wanted to see this kit built and this is worth seeing.

Nice work on a really big ship model. I chickend out and decided to try a destroyer for my first project. Looking forward to your progress as you go.

It's good to see an aircraft carrier built. One of these days maybe I'll try one...

Here are some more pics of the bridge and stack. The oversize toothpick sticking up may be the mast someday. The guns on the stack are obviously not card. The boat is the centre one of three. The sides of the launcher are card but the top is from the etch set. Two more to go.

There are a lot of boat sub models. Here are some of them. The 5" deck cannon is the first of 12. Lots of work left to go. I have had to put the model away until the spring so this will be the last for now.

jimbeam, what company produced this ship, is it a Fly copy or GMP? I am looking to add this to my collection for a future build. Looking good too, wow, what a monster. I like.

It's a GPM kit. If I had it to do over I would get the laser cut frames. Cutting 2mm card is not fun.

Thanks, and I have discovered the laser cut frames for several kits I have already and if they are available when I order the kit, they get ordered too. Heck, I try to get the whole show if available, the barrels and PE. Just seems this is hard to do unless you order from GPM and the postage turns me off from this option, keep hoping what I need turns up from Kris. I was looking at the Fly version, but after seeing your's, GPM it is! PS: Look into a pair of Fiskars softouch sheers, they look like a mini pair of pruning sheers, outstanding for cutting 2mm and up card. Got the idea from another thread here, just do not remember which one. If you need, I will up-load a photo of them, they are not cheap, but after you use, you will be glad you purchased. Rick

I'm impressed with the detail in those 20mm's and 5" deck guns.

Looks good!

I've got this kit in my stash somewhere. Those weapons would make good upgrades for other kits.
