Ugh, messed up on the sensor mast... Instructions weren't very clear.

If there is someone that can translate the instructions in the supplied image, i'd be grateful!

I took the instructions to mean that you cut out the light blue bits, then glue the dark bits on the inside of the mast.

Thinking back to how it turned out, and using the benefit of hind-sight. I would not bother.

It was a waste of time and detracted from the rest of the model.

I forgot to cut the slits in the black parts (h2-5). Cutting out the green between the spars is indeed time consuming, but i think it'll look way better with the black recessed than if they were flat black/dark grey.

BTW, 28 C inside temp is a bit blargh to do things in...

Tim, did you put the H11 to H15 parts on the tower? H11 and 12 seem to be either too short and too long for where they are supposed to go.

H11 and H12 go either side of sub-assembley H9. Page 3 of the instuctions shows this in detail.

Hope this helps

Thanks, Tim. Just test fitted and scratched a bit, but i got it inder control.

One thing that irks me though, this ship has a heli deck, but doesn't come with a heli...

So i found this place: masayu-i blog - ‚‚‚‚‚‚ - Part 2: Eƒy[ƒp[ƒNƒ‰ƒtƒg (paper craft)

Somewhere in the posts was the Japanese navy SH-60. In braille scale (about 1/800 XD). I scaled it up and this is the result:

Not sure if i got the scale right though.

There are other SH-60 models, but none say the scale...

Triple posting, but got some more content.

Found another SH-60j on the web, but it isn't a very good one:

So i loaded it up in Inkscape and started whaling at it:

Big update.

'Improved' and scaled down the Seahawk from my previous post:

I think i got the scale right. Still need to fix a few parts on it.

More work has been done on the Kongo herself:

Only have a few parts left to do, but the finish is in sight now.
I'm really happy with how the Anti-Missile guns came out, but not with the squarish boxes on top of the bridge. Rolled the forward smokestaks a little bit too tight, but it still came out nice.

I seem to be on a roll this week, this is the second model finished, even though I could have been done weeks if not months earlier...

Now i just need to get here a proper display place, my coffee table isn't very suited...
