More progress with the little pieces. Finished the Ladders, the stacks, the stove minus the pipe, and also the ships wheel which was by far the most challenging:

Closeup of the very detailed wheel:

Ok, it looks like the next step is to start working on the Brooks Rifles & pivots! More to come soon!

Ok, wow...I can not believe how well that came out. Those are such small parts! A really skilled modeler to be sure. Thank you for making my design turn out so well.

Ok started working on the pivot carriage and Brooks rifles for this wonderful model. The detail in this area of the kit is immense and despite initially feeling a bit overwhelmed I went to work and enjoyed making the little progress I did today...

Here is the pivot carriage assembled and painted with some Tamiya paints to give it some stand out detail:

Got one of the wheels in place and still need to place three more as well as some minor detail pieces before I start assembly on the Brooks Rifle itself. More to come soon!

wow....I sure hope they fit inside that necked down casement end. They should but its been an unusually long sting of parts fitting together as designed. This model is coming out far better then I had expected. You are an excilent model builder.

Off to finish the design on the outer casement....and apparently, a stove pipe

Then the lower knuckles and ribs, keel and screw/rudder. :(

I am dragging my feet a bit, feeling a bit out of my depth when thinking about that but...here we go.

Ok a little more progress today. I got the Brooks Rifle completed and mounted on the pivot and carriage. Just three wheels and a couple of detail parts and the first gun is complete:

Painted it with Tamiya black after assembly to make it come to life:

Hope to finish the first Brooks Rifle tomorrow and move on to the others! More to come soon!

Can't wait! I hope the Dahlgrens come out OK. I really want to see if the little boat howitzer is workable at this scale too.
