Well, for the 1/72 one, since that was my option, some time in 2010 as I have three other Russian gunboats to get on the shelf before this one hits the assembly + I am most definitely going to stay a tactical bound BEHIND mousemuffins so as to learn from those who go before...

Novgorod 1/72 scale
Guys, you were dreaming about it ... I have start it !!! By using the (beautiful) Pro-Model 1/200 scale and uplifting the drawings with a Xerox to 1/72 scale. The next step was to cut out the pieces in Balsa wood and ... start the assembly. All details will come from aftermarket and/or supermarket supplies. Example : The Chemineys are made from PVC tubing for showers.
I'll post updates whenever someone would be interrested. |

I am really looking forward to seeing updates on this. A 1/72nd scale version will be great. I'll ditto PAPER FAN..."whenever is every time you make a step."

Very keen to follow this as I think it will look awesome in 1/72 - for me, the original 1/200 was probably too small (read 'fiddly')...

Novgorod 1/72 scale
Thanks for your kind interrest.
In fact, I had a major issue to cover the wood framing, and my building skills were stretched at their limits. But .... I am also a fan of large remote control gliders and planes, and have sponsored a projet set-up by a bunch of friends : a CNC machine, meaning a 3D automated saw controlled by computer. It took quite a lot of work to the guys, but now it is fully operational. Jean-Paul has already designed the base of Novgorod in 3D, and the saw is ready to go ... That means also that, once successfull, the automated saw can produce another one, and again, and agian ... I'll keep you posted |
